Glazer Pain Webinar

This 1-hour webinar offers Dr. Glazer's insights into the assessment and treatment of functional chronic pelvic pain disorders. The symptoms and their relationship to characteristics of SEMG signals are reviewed. Dr. Glazer, will be accompanied by a physical therapist and another health professional that are members of the International Research Team studying the use of the Glazer protocol. Dr. Glazer covers the importance of a standard intake form that is used for all patients.

He also provides an overview of the additional questionnaires for specific populations (gender, pain, incontinence, sex, urogenital, gastrointestinal, gynecological, etc).

Dr. Glazer describes a two-page report with the values and a 1-page printout of the tracings that is given to the client, and reviews some examples from his practice. Webinar panelists that are member of the BFE-Glazer team, describe the way in which they work with referring physicians and other health professionals. These physicians are usually specialists that have ruled out or are actively treating identified organic sources of the symptoms and referred the patient for further evaluation and treatment. These referring physicians, and other members of Dr. Glazer's multidisciplinary international research and education project team provide updates on how best to coordinate the clinical activities of teams using the Intrapelvic SEMG assessment protocol. Team members can include a biofeedback therapist with specialty training, experience and certification in pelvic floor muscle surface electromyography, a mental health specialist with chronic pain and sexual disorders experience, a physical therapist with pelvic floor muscle specialization, a nurse with urological expertise, or other specialty health professionals.
